We have been closely monitoring weather conditions and conferring with other local agencies and our operational staff. All D303 schools will be open and operating on a normal schedule tomorrow–Tuesday, Jan. 21. We anticipate and are working to ensure regular operations on our busing routes and in our school buildings. We encourage staff and families to dress for subzero temperatures. As always, families have the option of keeping their children home if they believe the weather is too cold to be outside.
Kindergarten is a very important year at Bell-Graham! It is during this year that our students will get their first taste of formal schooling.
They will learn a great deal about sharing, patience, self-care, responsibility, and caring for others. In addition to practicing their social skills, kindergartners at Bell-Graham are given ample opportunity to demonstrate and practice their emerging literacy skills.
Drawing pictures, telling stories, writing stories, and reading a variety of texts are all part of the daily experience for our youngest students. Working up to our 100th Day is a milestone during this year.
Spring is our kindergartners' favorite time of year because they get to hatch and study chicks and ducklings in the classroom!
